Specific Objectives

To generate new knowledge regarding the benefits of climbing on the development of soft skills and social inclusion;

To raise the awareness, capacities and skills among members of the climbing community and the involved organisations with the goal of making climbing a more inclusive and diverse sport;

To use climbing as an educational tool for developing soft skills and for promoting the social inclusion of migrants/ethnic minorities;

To raise awareness about the benefits of climbing for social inclusion and promote engagement for a more inclusive and diverse climbing community.
How Will We Achieve Our Goals?
The implementation of the Climb it UP project is devised in 3 main implementing phases that will last from November 2023 until October 2025. Project Management and Dissemination Activities will run horizontally throughout the project duration.
Results
E-Publication: Final Study Report
The report summarizes the findings of comprehensive research study titled “Understanding the Benefits and the Barriers of Inclusion in and through Climbing”. The study delves into the advantages and challenges of inclusion within the climbing community, with a particular emphasis on migrants and ethnic minorities in partner countries (Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain).

Good Practices Handbook: Climbing for Social Inclusion & Diversity
Twenty practices are collected in this Handbook, coming from the five countries belonging to the project consortium (Greece, Italy, Spain, Germany and Austria). Each practice has been carefully selected to illustrate how climbing can overcome social, cultural and physical barriers, uniting people and promoting inclusion and well-being of those who practice it.
